Security Scan Your PC

You can get your PC scanned online for security vulnerabilities. It's a good way to test for spyware, virii, or open ports(not blocked by your firewall). Here are some trustworthy sites you can use safely:
Hacker Whacker
Sygate
Test My Firewall
Audit My PC
iggyz.com
Gibson Research/SpinRite

Note: some untrustworthy web sites offer to do this for you, and then plant nasty stuff on your computer. Stick to the list above.

Print Documents In Reverse Order

Ink-jet printers usually print multipage documents face up, in page number order. As a result, the first page is on the bottom. This means you have to hand-collate the copies in the correct page order. That would be Computer Annoyance # 9,274,850,928.

Why not just tell the printer to the current print document in reverse order?

Before printing,
- File --> Print
- Click the Preferences button.
- Select Reverse Print Order
- Click OK twice.

Better yet, make this the default for all print jobs from Microsoft Office applications on that printer.
Tools --> Options --> Print (tab)
- select Reverse Print Order
- OK

%$#@ Word Puzzles

Crosswords are the words I use when I can't figure out those %$#@ puzzles.

To other folks, however, crossword puzzles lie somewhere between a passion and an obsession... as in "I do the New York Times crossword puzzle in ink."

CrosswordPuzzleGames has 32,400 free crossword puzzles for your enjoyment.... or in my case, 88 years of frustration.

Optional, at no extra cost, are
- 12x12 and 18x18 word grids
- a puzzle solver just in case you get stuck
- a crossword creator to make your own puzzles
- a random, daily puzzle (the story of my life)

From the list of computer users, find and list all who have (at least one) clue.
You can figure out the rest.

Ok, no more Nerd Humor for a while......
