From The Mail Bag

Just had to tell you that Shane (age 6 or so....) went with some friends to dinner and they saw Santa there. All Shane asked Santa for was a shiny silver sleigh bell and Bush to get "kicked out of office."

We're proud parents tonight. One more for the blue!

If You Have To Ask, Then You Won't Understand The Answer

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

Wrong. The original rationale for the war.
Wrong. The pre-war intelligence.
Wrong. The estimates of required troop strength.
Wrong. The war hawks' guesses about the response of the Iraqi people.
Wrong. The cost estimates of the war.
Wrong. The notion that all of the troops wouldn't need proper armor for their bodies and their vehicles.
Wrong. The idea that the revenue from Iraqi oil sales would pay for the war.
Wrong. Lying to the world about weapons of mass destruction.
Wrong. Deceiving the American people about connections between Al Queda and Iraq.
Wrong. Ignoring the world community when our allies wanted more proof before proceeding.
Wrong. Dismissing the Geneva Conventions as "quaint."
Wrong. The concepts of torture and unlimited detention without trial as a means of gathering intelligence.
Wrong. The bad faith and shoddy treatment our troops are receiving from the highest officials of their government.

Right. The trust in the valor and capability of our troops.

Hey! One out of fourteen ain't bad.

From the transcript of Meet The Press, 12.19.2004 (Tim Russert, host)

MR. RUSSERT: What does George W. Bush have to do to have a successful second term?

[snip]

SEN. WARNER: I think you'll be surprised at the maturity and the growth that this man will show in the coming years.
